Anonymous — I have always been a huge fan of Psych, but I feel like this season is not funny. I rarely laugh, and I use to enjoy that part of Psych. And I think they are focuses each story on making sure to mention sex at least 20 times. I just really feel like this season has been going downhill. And Psych is my favorite show, so I say this with a broken heart. And I was curious as to your opinion on this season as a whole so far?
I’ve actually been enjoying this season for the most part. Lassie Jerky and 100 clues are my favorite of the episodes that have aired so far. But given what’s happened in the last episode, I’m not sure how the rest of the season is gonna shape up. Honestly, I hate that Juliet knows. Hate it. I’m quite motherfucking sad about it. Like you anon, Psych has always been one of my favorite shows since it started back in 2006. For me, Psych is Shawn and Gus. They are it. They are the core of the show. Their malarkey, shenanigans, and tomfoolery is what the show has always been about and yes in part, it is also about growth. But to me, Juliet knowing about Shawn isn’t the kind of growth that’s needed before the series finale. It’s gonna be a huge fucking damper on things. How are Shawn and Gus going to stay in this hilarious bubble they’re always been in. Besides Henry, Gus is the only other person who knows Shawn is a fake and THAT’S WHAT MAKES THE SHOW.
I’m just really sad. I’ll see how Psych manages to deal with this huge anvil that they’re dropped. I hope the vibe of the show stays the same, but I fear it won’t.
